All proceeds go towards providing precious care and keepsake items to parents after the loss of their baby.

Love From Penny and Lyla is holding this special event, Canberra's only dedicated grief retreat for loss parents, on Sunday 25th May within the grounds of the tranquil National Botanic Gardens. 

A unique day retreat designed for, and dedicated to loss parents. A gentle place to share your babies, connect with people who really understand, check in with your grief, and revisit your self care plan.

All proceeds go towards providing care boxes and bags to bereaved parents, through Canberra Hospitals and clinics..

It will be a special day to honour you and your babies.

Program Inclusions
🧘‍♂️ Meditation
Set the scene and your intentions for the day. Unwind and clear your mind, ready to start the day. Facilitated by Jas Kaur, with a distinguished background as a holistic life and leadership coach. Jas brings a transformative approach rooted in human connection and compassion

Grief peer support and workshop
An opportunity to revisit your grief - no matter how long you’ve been living with it. Facilitated by Sonia Fenwick of the Canberra Grief Centre, who has over 20 years’ experience working in various setting related to death, dying, grief, bereavement and associated trauma. Sonia has professional qualifications in psychology, counselling, psychotherapy, thanatology and trauma support. We will explore the concept of grief as an attachment wound, and how we live with it for life. Surrounded by others who’ve experienced significant loss, you will have the opportunity to think about what it means to cope with grief, healthy ways of carrying it, and what it might look like when it goes wrong.
- If you feel like this session is a bit much on the day, or you’re not feeling comfortable enough to share your experience, fear not! You can share as much or as little as you’d like, or feel free to wander the gardens if you need some time out. The day is for you.

🥗 Morning tea and lunch
Enjoy a nutritious and delicious platter-style morning tea and lunch, with coffee and a wide selection of herbal teas available throughout the day. Suitable for all dietary requirements.

💫 Keepsake creation
Create a special keepsake to take home with you, to honour your loved ones. It doesn’t matter whether you are an artist or don’t have a creative bone it your body - it’s about the process and letting go!

🩷 Sound healing
A gentle and soothing session to help your body relax, and calm your mind. The wonderful Mon from Sense of Flow promised a sound bath will 'ease tension and bring a sense of balance. Whether you’re new to sound healing or seeking a moment of tranquillity, a sound bath invites you to rest, reset, and reconnect with yourself.’ Mon is focussed on empathy and presence, bringing warmth and intention. Mon will meet you with kindness, and without judgement.

🌿 Walk in nature
Set in the serene surrounds of the Australian National Botanical Gardens, Jindii EcoSpa is unique, and makes a perfect place to set out on a stroll in the gardens. An opportunity to get some fresh air, peace and quiet, or enjoy nature with some new friends. The venue is surrounded by native birds, wildlife and stunning flora.
